9 Days Primates Tour Uganda

Day 1: Ngamba Island.
On the first day of your safari, you will be taken to Uganda Wildlife education Centre for  a visit and then briefing before you board your  boat from Entebbe to Ngamba Island .  Along the ride , you will be guided along  and then passby the equator whilst on the boat to Ngamba Island . On arrival at Ngamba Chimpanzee sanctuary, you will be briefed by the duty caregiver about how these orphaned chimps were brought to the Island and then later it is chimps feeding time!  You will then view chimpanzees being fed on the visitors’ plat form. In the afternoon you will take a boat ride back to Entebbe and return to your hotel at either Executive Airport  Guest house / Central Inn Hotel Standard – Boma Guest House Luxury – Imperial Botanical beach hotel / Imperial resort beach hotel or Lake Victoria Windsor Hotel

Day 2: Kibaale Forest National Park.
Kibaale National Park for a stay within the tropical forest.  Fortportal rests in the silhouette of the enchanted Mountains of the Moon and is well know for the many tea plantations. With its verdant tropical rainforest and fascinating diversity of animals, Kibaale National park is one of the magnificent and marvelous forests is Uganda.  Indeed, the forest is worth protecting because it is a home to the largest number of Man’s closet relatives the Chimpanzees! Dinner and overnight at; Budget – Chimps nest Camp, Standard -  Rwenzori View Guest House, Luxury – Primate Lodge Kibaale/ Ndali Lodge/ Mountains of the moon Lodge

Day 3: Kibaale National Park & Bigodi Swamp

Assemble at Kanyankyu River Camp and prepare for the Chimpanzee walk.  Kibaale Forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. Take lunch and then move to Bigodi swamp for your nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and takes approximately two hours. The swamp is known for its rich diversity of birds and Flora. Overnight at the lodge of your budget .

Day 4: To- Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a morning breakfast, leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park, we will take a visit to the crater Lakes region then after continue to Queen Elizabeth national park. It is a marvelous route with a beautiful panorama via Kasese, with the green valley on the left and the Rwenzori Mountains on your right side. A game drive en route gives you a chance to spot warthogs, waterbucks, and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Budget Instiitute of Ecology / Simba safari lodge Moderate – Hippo Hill Lodge/ Ihamba lodge Up Market Mweya safari lodge or Jacana safari lodge/ Katara Lodge

Day 5: Game Drive And Launch Cruise – Queen Elizabeth.
On this day you will begin with a game drive to the mating ground of the Uganda kobs along the Kasenyi Miles Track. We search for lions, buffaloes, elephants, and other wild animals in their natural habitat, before returning for lunch.  Take lunch and after go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural water way  between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the elephants, buffaloes drinking water along the shores and hundreds of hippos. Retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Leave for Bwindi National Park Via Ishasha Sector
This morning before you leave for Bwindi, you will go for Chimp tracking in Kyambura Wildlife Reserve. Driving through a grassland area, suddenly, we come across an astonishing gorge of a hundred meters deep, sheltered with tropical rainforest. You will trek through  the gorge of the Kyambura River and seek for the wild chimpanzees. Depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha sector towards Bwindi.  A game drive en route  will reward you with  trek climbing Lions. The panoramic route runs through a lush countryside while you pass traditional homesteads and farms. You will arrive at Bwindi in the evening for dinner and overnight at Budget Buhoma Community bandas or Bwindi View bandas / Virunga Hotel Moderate – Lake Kitandara Lodge or its similar/ Nkuringo Campsite, Standard -/ Gorilla resort camp / Buhoma Lodge / Engagi lodge/ Mantana Silver back lodge or  Traveler’s Rest camp or Wagtail eco lodge, Up market Gorilla Forest camp / Clouds Lodge or Mount Gahinga Volcanoes lodge .

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This morning after breakfast, you will descend to the thick forest for gorilla tracking the main theme and highlight of the safari. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes. Expect to trek as long as the area where the gorillas may be. The time taken to track these primates is unpredictable however. Trekkers will love the tracking in this beautiful eco system. An encounter of these gentle giants of Bwindi with the silver backs is exhilarating! Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. Observe them closely while they play, eat, and rest. For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour.

Day 8: Return to Kampala.
After having breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala. On our way we will visit the Mpigi Royal Drums Makers and certainly  the Equator, take pictures and shop souvenir. With lunch on our way we will reach Kampala by the end of the day to catch your flight back home..
