12 Days Wildlife Trek Uganda-Rwanda

Day 1: To Murchison Falls National Park
This morning you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park having a stopover for lunch at Masindi then after proceed to the splendid and wondrous falls. Have an awesome sight at the robust Nile as it is farfetched into a seven-meter deep hole to thunder 45 meters below with it many cascades it forms that can be viewed at different points up to the conclusion. Dinner and overnight at Red Chillis camp, Sambiya River Lodge Paraa Lodge / Nile safari Lodge.

Day 2: Game Drive in Murchison Falls National Park
This morning you will spend 3-4 hours game drive on the northern Bank of the Nile River. Your expected game encounters in the park include Rothschild Giraffe, Elephant, the Jackoes, Hartebeest, Lions, Waterbucks and a variety of Savannah woodland birds. Return to your lodge for a mid morning breakfast and have a brief relaxation as you wait for lunch.  Lunch is then followed by boat ride along the Nile to see aquatic game and avian species at a close range. It's a distinctive encounter with a family of hippos, crocodiles among others. For bird lovers, watch out for the celebrated shoe Bill stork if you are lucky and many other bird classes enjoy the dinner and overnight at your booked lodge.

Day 3: Murchison Fall to Fort portal
This morning after breakfast, you will leave Murchison Falls for Fort portal.  You will pass through The Albertine rift through Hoima to the green country side of Fort portal.  Have lunch en route and arrive in the late afternoon. Dinner and over night at Ndali Lodge, Budget Chimps Nest Lodge, Rwenzori View House, Mountains of the moons Lodge.

Day 4: Kibaale Forest National Park.
Kibaale Forest National Park is known to have a diversity of primates in East Africa. This morning you will enjoy a guided chimpanzee walk in the tropical rainforest evergreen in searching of the Hotsprings, Black white colobus monkeys, wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, butterflies of different species and many others. Take you lunch and then go to the Bigodi areas for a swamp stride. The guide will give you details about the animal and plant life you will encounter. Then after transfer back to your lodge.

Day 5: From Kibaale to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day you will leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park taking between 2-4 hours.  A game drive en route is gratifying with views of acacia trees, antelopes, birds and many other savanna wildlife and vegetation species. You will visit the crater lakes region, Katwe salt mines to see how salt is conventionally mined in Uganda. Then transfer for dinner and overnight at Albertine river camp, Hippo Hill Luxury tented camp, Mweya safari Lodge, Kyambura Wildlife reserve. Jacana Safari Lodge.

Day 6: Game drive and Launch cruise.
The morning game drive will provide excellent scenic view of the great Lakes of Lake Edwards and Lake George, then also their gutter-the great Kazinga channel. In the game drive, expect elephants, lions, buffaloes, kobs, the Python, hyenas, warthogs, birds, hippos etc. Return to the lodge for mid morning breakfast and then have lunch. In the afternoon you will go for  a boat -cruise along Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Expect to get exposed to a bird sin abundance both typical and migrants and the highest concentration of hippos in Africa. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day you will trek the chimpanzees in the Kyambura gorge. Driving through grassland area, straight away we come transversely to an amazing ravine of tropical rainforest 100 meters deep. Trek into Kyambura River Gorge for an odd; experience hiking chimpanzees. It's so paying to see the river valley, home of many bird and butterfly species.  Rangers will provide the necessary information about the gorge and then later you will return to your lodge for lunch, dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
You will drive through the southern section of Queen Elizabeth known as  Ishasha. Here we will take lunch by the Ishasha River if time permits and after searching for the famed Ishasha tree-climbing lions before continuing to Bwindi, home to the few remaining mountain gorillas. If you are tracking gorillas in the southern part of Bwindi , you will not be able to drive via this sector to shorten the drive between Kisoro and Queen Elizabeth national park. Bird life and primate life in the Bwindi national park is quite superb, and there is an incredible variety of flora. Some bird watchers refer to Bwindi as a bird heaven. Bwindi  holds 348 species of birds and supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that occur in Uganda. Overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas, Lake Kitandara Camp, Gorilla Forest camp, Gorilla resort camp Clouds lodge.

Day 9: Gorilla Tracking In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Take breakfast, with your packed lunch and  all your trekking gear, go to the starting point for briefing by a ranger guide. Enter the gorilla sanctuary for your world premier wildlife encounter and adventure- Gorilla Tracking. The beauty of this rain forest is magnificent. The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but criss-crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great giant apes. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight .

Day 10: Cross to Rwanda
This morning after breakfast drive across the Uganda -Rwanda- Cyanika Border. Eat your lunch en route and arrive at your lodge. You will check in and retire for dinner and over night at Kinigi Guest House, Muhavura Lodge. Mountain Gorilla Nest Lodge, Mountain Gorilla View Lodge and Virunga Volcanoes Lodge.

Day 11: Gorilla tracking adventure.
An early morning breakfast is followed by a drive or walk to Kinigi park headquarters for briefing, group allocation and orientation.  This is followed by a drive to the trailheads where hiking and trekking up the hills to the bamboo zone begins. Hiking, trekking and tracking gorillas may take about 4 to 10 hours. View and stay with the Gorillas for one hour.  Dinner and over night at your lodge.

Day 12- Dianne Fossey hike / Golden monkey-Transfer to Kanombe airport in Kigali.
Dianne Fossey hike for your expedition to slopes of the Bisoke volcano and pay a visit to the former Karisoke centre where you will see the grave of Dian Fossey.  Extraordinary views, luxuriant forested slopes and an extraordinary environment. This incredible hike to the grave will last 2 up 3 hours. For those who will choose Golden monkey tracking will be in for another primates watch treat. Return to the lodge to clean up up and then transfer to Kigali Kanombe airport for your nest flight.
